Well, Dave, speed isn't the *only* criterion used by the PAR people. I
have been trying (vainly) to get one for review purposes, and they sent me
some nice literature instead. Basically, it amounts to the qualitative
aspects of the 24 bit renders. It sounded like they weren't getting the
MII quality from the Seacrate drives, so they went to the more expensive
Micrapolis drives for qualitative reasons. They're still stuck with the
old AT/IDE technology, and hinted at a SCSI II version RSN. I can only
hope that my Quantum Empire SCSI II drive is acceptable to the PAR ;^)
